Elizabeth Robinson Mitchell, AIA SVP/Managing Principal
Elizabeth Mitchell is the managing partner and the Senior Vice President of Backen, Gillam, & Kroeger. In addition to this role, Elizabeth has also been project manager on such notable projects as the Caneletto Restaurant at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, Larry Mindel’s Il Fornaio restaurants in Santa Monica, Atlanta, Seattle, and Scottsdale, as well as various remodels of Il Fornaio restaurants incorporating both upscale dining environments and “takeout” retail bakeries. Along with managing the various Il Fornaio projects, Elizabeth also provided construction administration services for Il Fornaio on Coronado Island and various other residential projects.
Before Backen, Gillam, & Kroeger was founded in 1997, Elizabeth worked with Jim Gillam at James Gillam Architects in North Beach as project manager on residences and restaurant projects. Prior to that, Elizabeth worked at notable East Coast firms specializing primarily in residential projects.
Elizabeth attended the Rhode Island School of Design where she received bachelor’s degrees in fine arts and architecture. She is a licensed architect with NCARB certificate since 2003, a national AIA member, a CCAIA member, and is licensed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Nebraska, Nevada, New York, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. With close to thirty years of national and international experience, Elizabeth has worked extensively on commercial, residential, community, and hospitality projects.
